CAP is a “ Not For Profit “ organisation for Black people formed in the London Borough of Southwark in October 1998.The need of CAP cannot be overemphasised considering the number of Black people who have been marginalized deliberately or otherwise, both socially and economically. Even some professionals have been reduced to doing menial jobs, just to make ends meet. The “brain drain” can only be attributed to discrimination of various kinds.
“Therefore, the onus is upon us as individuals to collectively seek legitimate means of improving our lives, stake and place in the society .It is my strong belief that, the only way we could claim our rights and place in the society, both socially and economically is through a collective effort. It is also my sincere belief that CAPUK will fill that gap; and serve as an umbrella organisation, a network and the voice for Black People irrespective of sex, nationality, colour, creed, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation ; both in the London Borough of Southwark and elsewhere. This will also enable us to effect positive changes on social and economic matters of concern to our members in the new millennium and beyond” [Sunny Lambe – Founder]
