  European Business Game
Teacher Info sheet

We are looking for teachers and students in 6th form / FE colleges in Southwark.

In the academic year 2008/09 your students could play through an enterprise exercise and be part (and win) the European Business Game (EBG). They will increase their general employment skills level while having fun. All students will benefit from gaining commercial skills, especially the ones interested in entrepreneurship.

We can deliver FREE enterprise training sessions and mentoring at your school for these teams. The groups should be a minimum of three students and have to be in education at least at the beginning of this competition.

EBG is an enterprise simulation initiative where students from 6th form / further education colleges across various European countries participate in establishing a business or project of their choice. EBG is an annual event which is hosted in turns among the participating European countries.

EBG was developed to foster enterprise culture and relevant management skills among young people, particularly, 16 to 19 year olds. The participants learn to work in a team and discover the rules that govern the economic world. The existing participating counties are the Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Faeroe Islands, Italy, Scotland and Slovakia. Greenland and Latvia are due to join the game in 2008.

The young people winning the national competition will have the opportunity to present their business idea and –plan to and socializing with the winning teams of all the other countries and the judges in Denmark in June 2009. Students need to start working on their projects from September 2008.

If you would like to hear more about this fantastic opportunity and the available support from BBI we would be very happy to visit you at your school and answer your questions and also be available for presentations to students and parents.
